"Buñuelos" - Yam Cakes
Ingredients
- Yam - medium sized ( I prefer floridian type of Yam, but it is hard to find yam roots in some parts of the US)
- 1/4 teaspoon of minced garlic
- Salt - as desired.
- Oil - for frying
Procedures:
- Peel the yam root.
- Wash your hards quickly after you peel. It might itch. 👀😉😜
- Chop in small pieces and put it in the food processor.
- If you have a metal scraper, you can use it instead of the food processor. If using it, don't chop yam root into small pieces. Just start scraping it whole, unless it is too large to hold it.
- Add the garlic and salt. Taste for saltyness. 😏
- Heat oil.
- Using a spoon drop the yam mix into the oil.
- Fry until light brown.
- Using a paper towel on a plate drain the buñuelos when they are cooked.
Servings vary on the Yam root size.
